This is one of the highlights of our cycling camps. Today, we organize our own Handicap Hill Climb Time Trial on Sa Calobra! Isn't it cool to get a race number on the bike, like the pros? We have thought about all these little details that will make your experience unforgettable.
yesterday
💡 Coaching tip
”There’s no better place than Sa Calobra to put your fitness to the test. Motivation will be high, so don't start too fast. Keep your power steady. Aim for around 102-105% of your FTP for the first 20 minutes, and then adjust as needed during the second half of the climb based on how you’re feeling.”
yesterday
💡 Coaching tip
“After yesterday’s race ride, you should feel a bit tired but ready to tackle the last ride of the week. Final push today with four challenging climbs, culminating in a spectacular finish at Puig Maria. Let’s make it count!”
yesterday
Briefing
🔜 Located at the northern end of the island, the Cap de Formentor and its famous lighthouse have established themselves over the years as must-sees. Despite the rather modest distance, don't expect an easy ride. The two climbs and a route that's never flat should seriously challenge you.

Velominati - Rule #56
When wearing cycling kit and enjoying a pre or post ride coffee, it is only appropriate to drink espresso or macchiato. If the word soy/skim latte is heard to be used by a member wearing cycling apparel, then that person must be ceremonially beaten with Co2 canisters or mini pumps by others within the community.

💡 Coaching tip
“Training is all about balancing stress and recovery. Many athletes excel at pushing hard but often overlook the importance of rest” as Joe Friel wisely said. Today’s focus is on active recovery. Let’s take it easy and learn how to truly rest.

🗣💬 A review from Valerie
“Well, I had a blast! I loved every minute of this camp: the structure and challenges (this is a beautiful island, hundreds of cyclists, 10's of cars and buses and no honking), the amazing food/nutrition and hydration, all seamless thanks to our fearless Aurelien (and his team) with superb knowledge of the terrain and countryside making it easy to swap around rides because of weather and winds. All I had to do was show up and ride. […] Loved it, loved it, loved it and recommend it 1000%!”

“Authentic passion for riding”
Aurelien has this authentic passion for riding a bike that shines through in every moment of each SCCC camp. He really cares about making sure everyone is enjoying themselves and getting stronger, so along with his team he makes sure that we are fuelling properly, that the rides are challenging enough without anyone overreaching too much too early, and that off the bike the food is good, the beds are comfy, the massages are specially designed for cyclists pushing really hard, and that we have some great pictures to look at after each ride and good company to keep us motivated. On top of this, he takes the time to explain why SCCC does everything the way that they do it so we have confidence in his approach and the knowledge to improve our own training when we get home.

🗣💬 A review from Maxime
“This was my fourth camp with Sa Calobra Cycling Club — I could stop my review there, as I think that says enough about the quality they consistently deliver. Another unforgettable experience, from start to finish, that kept exceeding my expectations. The like-a-pro experience is absolutely top-notch: the bike, the routes, the villa, the food, the massages, the coaching — everything is just perfect. […] I've already booked my fifth camp and I'm trying to fit in a sixth. If you're passionate about cycling, Sa Calobra Cycling Club is an absolute must.”

“A game changer”
Have you ever ride with power? Join one of our cycling camps to give it a try. All our bikes are equipped with a powermeter, and our Ride Captain Aurelien will teach you how to use it during the week! 👇
“Riding with a powermeter is just a game changer. You don't have to be a pro to benefit from having one. I even think that less experienced riders benefit more from riding with power. You can pace better, and avoid putting yourself in the red zone if you rely on numbers more than on your perception of the effort.”

“Nothing to worry about”
I was a bit apprehensive before the camp, especially being female and going on my own – would the others be stronger than me, would I hold them up, could I keep up etc. As it was, I had nothing to worry about – yes, the guys were strong but the support and camaraderie kept everyone going and it didn’t matter that some were stronger than others. We all looked out for each other and we were all challenged in different ways.

On the road to the Cap de Formentor lighthouse, this 3km climb can be extended by taking a right at the car park, a small road which climbs even higher. The road is not that great, but the view at the top over the bay of Pollença is definitely worth it.
