“I’m so excited about this camp!”
Let's give a voice to those who know us best : the riders! The Sa Calobra Cycling Club is a team, your team! Today, an interview with Russell, who talks about his experience at the Sa Calobra Cycling Club.
When did you start cycling?Russell Osborn : I started cycling 6 years ago. I had a bad Achilles injury from years of running, so I wanted to find something else to do. It turns out I enjoy cycling even more than I enjoyed running. Where did you find the Sa Calobra Cycling Club?
R.O I came across Sa Calobra on Facebook. I saw a video clip of a training camp, and it looked excellent, so I started following the page. Eventually, I worked up the nerve to try one of the camps! What makes you come back?
R.O This will be my second camp. I had the time of my life last time—every day was awesome. From the time on the bike to the coaching sessions later in the day, I learned so much. The reason I’ve come back is because of the great time I had, and I’m determined to do even better this time. Do you prepare specially for the camp?
R.O I use TrainerRoad for my training plan, which is a really cool app. You can tell the app what dates you want to peak for, and I’ve used this week at Sa Calobra to be in good shape (for me). So hopefully, I’ll have the legs for it! How do you feel about this camp?
R.O I’m so excited about this camp! Last year was brilliant but a bit scary—I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I was around people I didn’t know. But that’s what excites me about this camp: last year, I made some great friends, and I’m sure I will again this time. What will be your next cycling challenge after this camp?
R.O My next cycling challenge is actually another Sa Calobra camp—this one in the Alps. I know it will be tough, but that’s the point, right?
