New Season Calendar is out
Aurélien, the new season calendar is out. What is the big picture for this year?Aurélien Hornuss : This season is about controlled growth. Demand has increased massively over the last two years, so we focused on expanding where it makes sense, improving the experience, and building a structure that is sustainable long term.We are moving from 25 to 27 camps. That might not sound like much, but operationally it is a big step forward. You added more camps in the Alps. Why?
A.H Simply because demand is huge. The Alps camps sell out faster every year and we had a long waiting list. Instead of increasing group sizes, which we will never do, we chose to add more Alpine blocks. This allows more riders to experience the Alps while keeping the same quality, support, and atmosphere that define our camps. Calpe also plays a bigger role this season. Can you explain?
A.H Yes. We now run two full blocks in Calpe. The first one was a massive success, both in terms of riding conditions and rider feedback. Calpe gives us reliability. The weather, the roads, the climbs. It allows us to deliver high level training when winter conditions elsewhere are uncertain. Doubling down there was an obvious decision. There are again two camps with Pierre Rolland. What made you repeat the experience?
A.H The feedback was overwhelming. Having Pierre with us brought something very special, both on and off the bike. We decided to do two camps again to give more people the chance to experience it. This is not about guest appearances or marketing. It is about sharing real experience from the highest level of professional cycling, in an honest and accessible way. The company keeps growing. How do you manage that internally?
A.H Growth means structure. This season we are opening two positions. One support role to help with logistics and on the road operations, and one social media internship. Content has become a major part of how people discover and connect with SCCC, and we want to take that to the next level while staying authentic. On a personal level, what is your focus this year?
A.H To be honest, I have been working more and more every year for the last six years without really stopping. The goal now is to build a team that allows us to run more camps while also giving me a bit more breathing space. That is necessary if we want to keep improving without burning out. The team store is also evolving. What is coming next?
A.H SCCC has become more than just camps. It is a brand people are proud to be part of. We are expanding the team store with practical and lifestyle products. A waterproof phone cage, a proper race day bag, and a new line of off the bike clothing are coming. Items you actually use, not just logo products. Final word for riders discovering the new calendar?
A.H We are growing, but we are not changing what matters. Same standards, same attention to detail, same commitment to delivering a real pro level experience. Just more opportunities to be part of it.
