“SCCC’s formula is the best”

Let's give a voice to those who know us best : the riders! The Sa Calobra Cycling Club is a team, your team! Today, an interview with Greg, who talks about his experience at the Sa Calobra Cycling Club.

When did you start cycling?
Gregory Heath
: I started cycling as a kid with BMX racing. As I grew older, I transitioned to track cycling and competed as an amateur in our province. Recently, I’ve focused on road and gravel cycling, and I still enjoy competing in a few events each year, especially some of the races in Europe.

Where did you find the Sa Calobra Cycling Club?
G.H
I discovered SCCC through a work colleague who’s also an avid cyclist. He attended the Mallorca and Alps camps and couldn’t stop raving about the Club, the format, and the coaching. When I heard how many camp attendees are returning alumni, I knew it had to be first class.

You have been here three times already. What makes you come back?
G.H
I love the team atmosphere of training and living together, and the professional, focused training regime is unmatched. I’ve done many cycling trips, but SCCC’s formula is the best—there’s no better way to improve your skills, fitness, and make lifelong friends.

Do you prepare specially for the camp?
G.H
Having been to Mallorca a couple of times, I know what to expect. I do plenty of long rides on my home roads to prepare for the camp’s distances, but I’m now focused on sustained threshold training. Aurélien pushes us hard on the climbs, so repeated threshold efforts are a great way to prepare for the longer ascents.

How do you feel about this camp?
G.H
This has been a big year for me in terms of road volume. With all the training and my familiarity with the Mallorca roads, I’m excited to return and challenge myself for some personal bests!

What will be your next cycling challenge after this camp?
G.H
I’m thrilled to head to Calpe in early spring 2026 to tackle the roads and climbs with SCCC. I’ve heard amazing things about the region from friends and can’t wait to experience it myself!
