“This camp will be a key step in preparing for my future goals”

Let's give a voice to those who know us best : the riders! The Sa Calobra Cycling Club is a team, your team! Today, an interview with Frédéric, who talks about his experience at the Sa Calobra Cycling Club.

When did you start cycling?
Frédéric Gil
: I've been road cycling since 2016, but I started with mountain biking a few years earlier, riding once or twice a week. Cycling quickly became a passion that shapes my daily life. What hooked me was the mix of freedom, self-improvement, and discovering varied landscapes. Today, it's more than just a sport—it's a way of life that allows me to challenge myself and share unforgettable moments with other cyclists.

Where did you find the Sa Calobra Cycling Club?
F.G
An Italian friend told me about your camps with so much enthusiasm that I immediately wanted to try it. He described a complete and professional experience, where everything is optimized for cyclists to focus solely on their passion. From my first participation, I understood why he spoke so highly of it: the organization, landscapes, and atmosphere are simply exceptional.

You have been here three times already. What makes you come back?
F.G
My first experience was so positive that I didn’t hesitate for a second to return! Here, you feel like you're in a bubble dedicated to cycling, where every detail is designed to help you perform at your best. The professional coaching, high-quality facilities, and warm atmosphere create a unique dynamic. You really feel like part of a pro team, where everything is done to help you improve and enjoy yourself. I talk about it enthusiastically to everyone, as if I were part of a big family of cycling enthusiasts!

Do you prepare specially for the camp?
F.G
I don’t do any specific preparation because cycling is already part of my daily routine. However, I do increase my riding volume slightly before the camp to arrive in good shape. I vary my training with endurance rides, intervals, and technical drills. The goal is to be ready without being exhausted, so I can fully enjoy every moment. I know the coaching staff will be there to help me improve, which motivates me even more!

How do you feel about this camp?
F.G
As the camp approaches, I feel a mix of excitement and confidence. Having already experienced it, I know what to expect: flawless organization, stunning landscapes, and a unique atmosphere. I’m a little nervous, as I always am before a challenge, but it’s a positive kind of nervousness because I know everything is set up for us to push ourselves in the best conditions. I can’t wait to dive back into that dynamic and share this adventure with the other participants!

What will be your next cycling challenge after this camp?
F.G
My next big goal is to participate in l'Étape du Tour de France in 2026. In the meantime, I plan to take part in a few cyclosportives to keep challenging myself. These events are an opportunity for me to measure my progress, experience intense moments, and share my passion with other cyclists. Every challenge is a new adventure, and this camp will be a key step in preparing for these future goals!
