Last year, during our first camp in Calpe with Pierre Rolland, we had the chance to do something pretty special.

Race him up Coll de Rates.

But not just the classic first section.

All the way to Tossal dels Diners, including that brutal final road with ramps above 15%.

The riders started ahead. Pierre started behind.

One question remained.

Could the former Tour de France stage winner catch every single rider before the summit?

What followed was one hell of a race.
