Why we left Gobik

We've been wearing Gobik kit since the early days of SCCC. Six years, 130+ camps, and thousands of riders who pulled on that jersey for the first time at the villa and felt like part of a real team.

So why did we leave?

The quality was always there. But over time, two things started to bother us.

First, the design. The moment that crystallized it for us was our white skin suit. We asked Gobik to design it. We wanted something new, fresh. This is what they sent us. A pale copy of our white jersey, with some weird details.

We said no. We took the design back into our own hands, started from scratch, reworked it completely, and ended up with the suit you've probably seen on our riders. It looks great now. But it shouldn't have taken that much effort on our end to get there.

Second, the relationship. At the volume we operate, 26+ camps per year, hundreds of riders, and over €60,000 spent on kit with them annually, we expected to be treated as a premium partner. We're not Ineos, we get that. But €60,000 a year should count for something. That expectation wasn't always met. And when you're asking riders to trust you with one of the most important weeks of their cycling year, every detail of that experience matters. Including the kit.

So we started looking elsewhere. And we found Bioracer.

Bioracer is a Belgian brand that makes kit for some of the best professional teams in the world. The fabrics are more technical, the fit is more precise, and the comfort over long days in the saddle is noticeably better. For riders spending 4 to 6 hours a day on the bike, that difference matters.

We tested it. We rode in it. We compared it with other brands like Tactic or GSport. The difference was so clear that the decision made itself.

There will be a transition period. Some camps this season will still have Gobik kit in circulation as we work through existing stock. It is not possible to choose between the two brands during this time. Both are premium quality and you'll be well looked after either way.

But from here, Bioracer is the direction we're going. And we're genuinely excited about what's coming.

À bientôt,
